Grandpa's Apple Cheddar Bake

Creating an apple and cheddar cheese bake seemed like a no brainer dish to make. I eat sliced apple with cheese or peanut butter or Nutella on a daily basis for a snack. Baked apples are a favorite southern side dish of mine. It wasn't until I gave my Mother a quick call for some tips on extra ingredients to add to this bake, that I learned my Grandfathers favorite dessert was a slice of apple pie topped with melted cheddar cheese.
