Statistically speaking, most married couples will be enjoying a night out to dinner this Valentine’s Day. However, for those of us who are single, might be celebrating with their children, or having a get together with friends, cooking at home can be a fun, healthy, and inexpensive alternative. So this year why not KISS (keep it simple silly) and do what we did, create individual pizzas that everyone can help make.
Valentine's Day is a day that is set aside to show the special people in your life how much you care. The following recipe will make this Valentine’s Day one to remember and it’s one you can make anytime of the year when you need a simple and fun meal.
INGREDIENTS (makes 2 individual pizzas)
1 14oz Wholly Wholesome Gluten Free Pizza Dough (thawed per instructions)
½ can Dei Fratelli Pizza Sauce
Fresh spinach to taste
1 to 2 cloves of thinly slice garlic
½ tomato sliced thin then quartered
½ small white onion sliced
8 oz mozzarella cheese shredded
Sea Salt (to taste)
Cracked pepper (to taste)
NOTE: all toppings are optional and can be adjusted to taste. Also be creative and add any toppings you like, just be careful to not overload your pizza.
Pre-heat your oven to 400 degrees
Split your pizza dough equally in half
On a lightly floured surface, roll out dough and flatten into a thin circular shape.
Place your dough on a non-stick baking sheet (we were able to fit two pizzas on to our baking sheet)
Pinch around the edges to add a lip to your pizza.
Add your pizza sauce first, even spread over your crust
Add the rest of your ingredients, in order, spread evenly over the top of your crust.
Bake for approximately 15 – 20 minutes but be sure to keep an eye on your pizza! When the cheese begins to melt and is slightly brown your pizza should be done.
You could also use the same pizza dough to create your own dessert pizzas too! You can use any sweet topping you’d like; we are just listing a few of our favorites below. Keep in mind that baking times will vary depending on your toppings and over. For the dessert pizzas we used the same 400 degree temperature setting but only baked them for about 10 - 15 minutes.
IMPORTANT!: Be sure to brush the top of your crust with melted butter before putting on your toppings and baking to prevent it from burning.

Shredded, sweetened coconut
Maraschino cherries, halved
Milk chocolate M&M's
White chocolate chips
Fresh strawberries, bananas, apples, or any other of your favorite fruits
