When we found out that Real Food Real Kitchens was invited to cover this year’s Food Network South Beach Wine & Food Festival (SOBEWFF) we could not have been more excited! After all, the SOBEWFF is one of the biggest food festivals each year and includes everything and everyone on the forefront of the food universe. Not only are all the big name Food Network celefs on hand, but the event draws out celebrities of all genres to take part in everyone’s favorite… FOOD!
Now that the opening day festivities are over :O( , we are ready to focus on what we came for: fun, food, and fabulosity! One goal this year is to come away from the SOBEWFF with not just a year’s worth of stories under our belt for 2014 in to 2015 but also with some basic cooking skills from amazing chefs that we can pass on to our readers and to people out there that can take this knowledge to help communities around the world make better and more simple food choices. To do this we will be attending the Fun and Fit as a Family sponsored by Carnival featuring Goya Kidz Kitchen hosted by Robert Irvine event which is all about well... fun, food, and family. It helps educate parents and kids to learn the basics of a healthy lifestyle in a fun way, very similar to what RFRK is all about (Family, Food, Culture & History). At this event we will be interviewing two of our favorite Chefs: Andrew Zimmern and Robert Irvine.
We are then moving on to the Whole Foods Market Grand Tasting Village for the rest of the weekend to get our ‘fill’ (yes we plan on pigging out) on all there is to know about food trends and developments for 2014. We have our eyes set on chatting with as many Chefs and tastemakers as possible. Some of the chefs that will be doing demos or discussions on Saturday or Sunday include: Marcus Samuelson, Tyler Florence, Martha Stewart, Emeril, Rachel Ray, Anthony Bourdain, The Deen Family, Anne Burrell… just to name a FEW! What a perfect way to round out this weekend of food in beautiful South Beach Miami.
There is plenty to see and do for every taste under the rainbow so come out to an event or two this weekend and share in the celebration. We can’t wait!
