Epcot International Food & Wine Festival

Epcot International Food & Wine Festival

Real Food Real Kitchens has packed our bags and are heading to the Epcot International Food & Wine Festival this weekend. We can't wait! We can't think of a better way to research our upcoming series Real Food Real Kitchens 'International' than by visiting, experiencing and tasting many different countries cuisine, cultures and traditions all in one place. We are of course looking forward to just about everything that is in store for us including all of the tastes of the world in one location. It's going to be a taste-bud adventure and there are even options for our vegetarian staff members which is awesome!

The festival lasts for 46 days and is celebrated for its inspired food-and-beverage marketplaces and premium dining events. This year the festival will debut a Scotland Marketplace and will add fresh flavor to the Brazil Marketplace. Griddled lobster tail with garlic butter sizzles at the Hops & Barley Marketplace by American Adventure, and the aromas of more than 25 ethnic and specialized marketplaces — Africa, France, South Korea and Florida Local included — waft across the World Showcase Promenade. Guests can have their own complimentary “passport” stamped at each location for a festival souvenir. Our goal is to try something from each and every one of them this year.

On the beverage front, guests can taste a Cabernet and Chardonnay from kegs at the Festival Center and sample a Pinot Gris and a Pinot Noir from kegs at the park’s Cool post. There will also be culinary demonstrations by celebrity chefs like Cat Cora, Warren Brown and Jamie Deen.  Chef Carla Hall, host of ABC’s “The Chew,” will appear at the Festival Center Sept. 28 and 29 for a cooking demo which we can't wait to see.

Culinary programs showcase a lineup of renowned winemakers, guest chefs and speakers like Master Sommelier Andrea Robinson as they participate in elegant dinners, luncheons, seminars and wine schools. The Party for the Senses grand tasting events and other special wine and culinary programs require reservations and separate event admission.

There is so much more going on through the run of the festival we hope we have the chance to visit more than once. This will truly be a foodies paradise! Look for more pictures and stories about our visit to the Epcot International Food & Wine Festival next week.
