Southern Pulled Pork and BBQ

Friends Bart and Marc love BBQ! Their families come together to share their uniquely different styles of BBQ. Bart, from South Carolina, makes a slow smoked ham with a secret vinegar based sauce complimented with a traditional family coleslaw recipe straight from his Grandmother. To match, Marc makes sauceless yet more traditional style smoked BBQ ribs that he loves to share!


Serves: 12

1 large head of cabbage finely shredded
1 medium bell pepper, finely chopped
1 medium sweet onion, finely chopped
2 carrots, grated

1 cup sugar
1 teaspoon salt
2/3 cup vegetable oil
1 teaspoon dry mustard
1 teaspoon celery seed
1 cup cider vinegar

Combine vegetable ingredients in a large bowl.

Combine dressing ingredients in a saucepan over medium heat, bring to boil.

Simmer, stirring until sugar is dissolved.

Let cool to room temperature and pour over vegetables tossing well.

Cover and refrigerate until chilled.
